Duo Mythologique For Flute and Contrabass
(Flute doubles on piccolo and alto flute)
by Lee R. Kesselman

Price: $21.95

Duo Mythologique was composed for flutist Sherry Kujala. It is conceived in the manner of a Baroque dance suite, with each movement bearing a single affect and tempo. At the same time, each movement's title, and clue for its affect, is based upon a character, theme, or association with Greek mythology. (MORE ABOUT Duo Mythologique...)

LEE R. KESSELMAN is well-known as a composer of vocal works, including opera, music for chorus, and solo songs. Large works include the opera THE BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS (commissioned by Opera for the Young), THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES (a choral opera), LOVE PHASES for baritone voice and piano, NIGHTS IN ARMOR for mixed chorus, SHONA MASS for voices and African percussion, and INFINITY IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND, a symphony for treble chorus and orchestra, commissioned by New Philharmonic. His works for children's choirs have brought him national attention and he has been commissioned to write for children's choirs, middle school, junior school, high school, college, community, church, and professional ensembles. His primary publisher is Boosey & Hawkes. A number of his works are also available from Kesselman Press
